| 'Rooso' ©Tracy Hall 2012 16" x 12" watercolour |
This is a painting of a delightful spaniel cross called Rooso, who has been patiently waiting for his portrait for over a year now. I had the pleasure of meeting him for a photo session as he lives in Orkney and he is adorable - I think 'effervescent' would describe him well, I really do love spaniels ... we had fun trying to get him to sit still for more than two seconds, but finally managed it with a helpful cat. As far as the painting goes, I have only one thing to say - ears. If you have ever tried painting a spaniel you will know what I mean!

Outstanding work!!!!
Thank you all :) Even though we got him to sit still eventually for more than a nano second, I still had to use four different photos for the portrait! But a lovely model, what a character.
Wonderfuly rendered Tracy. Your watercolor technique makes one wonder if it truly is watercolor because of all the detail you can acheive. Especially love how you handled the curly fur on the ears...the client was be very happy.
Thanks Colette - and it is watercolour, promise! I just paint funny.
