squirrel monkey painting in miniature

squirrel monkey watercolour painting in miniature by tracy hall

Squirrel Monkey © Tracy Hall 2011
3.5" x 2.25" watercolour on rag board

My latest painting follows on from a visit to Edinburgh Zoo where troops of capuchins and squirrel monkeys inhabit the Living Links field station. There is always something going on with squirrel monkeys and they are fascinating to watch. This little one was taking a break from the antics all around before shooting off after another piece of fruit. I love the way they sit with their tails wrapped around themselves :)

So beautiful, Tracy. I find it fascinating how you get so much out of a limited pallette. Just amazing.

A beautiful painting, capturing the playfulness of the little monkey.

Love this little chap, the way his tail frames him and is wrapped round him really shows how little they are. Don't you find you could just watch them for hours? Great work!
