just waiting for a title...© Tracy Hall 2011
4" x 1.75" watercolour
Finished! Do feel he should have a proper title though... any ideas?

Wow, Tracy, AMAZING work and detail on such a small scale. BRAVO! He looks like "The Thinker".
Cheers, Colette
Amazing work as usual. Title; "The Thinker"?
fabulous Tracy!!!
Hi, Tracy!
I really love his eyes! Sure he(of course, you) deserve something and "ENtitlement", not only a banana:).
Cheers, Sadami
Excellent!
agh, he is gorgeous, how about Deep in Thought, What a World, Thoughtful, Reflecting, What's next
Thank you everyone and such great title ideas too. Much appreciated - two votes for The Thinker from Colette and Tristan :) I rather like the connection between this fellow and Rodin's chap!
Great work Tracy! Please add my vote to The Thinker: a very apt title :D
Certainly looks like hes deep in thought, or hes had a hard day at the office) Wonderful job Tracy, just stunning)
Ha Sam! I think we can all relate to his expression can't we!
A wonderful painting. I thought ''Hmmm, what's next?'' but I like 'The Thinker' as well.
I love it, Tracy. Since he is from Budongo I think you should name him "Buddy".
He's stunning Tracy!! Such a fabulous expression...when I saw him I thought of a few things: an older chimp, a male, smart chimp...how about "Age of Wisdom" or "Pondering Primate" or "The Patriarch"
or something to refer to more personal character "Greybeard"
Amazing this is done with watercolor!!!
You are very talented!
Delightfully intimate! As a fellow miniature watercolor artist, congratulations on a lovely piece of work! :)
great job Tracy. HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU comes to mind
Beautiful work. Great painting, indeed.
More great suggestions! Thank you everyone! Now I am completely spoilt for choice. Think this might require a hat and a blindfold....:)
Tracy, this painting is so amazing! Hard to believe the size of this piece. Beautifully done! I'm speechless!!
You have done a wonderful job! His eyes are beautiful. For a title how about: Pondering or Contemplation
Thank you hmuxo :) Great suggestions Lorraine, thank you, unfortunately I already used Contemplation before. I should probably try some different types of poses!
Amazing fur, and overall painting! How did you achieve the highlights on the forearm after already establishing the darker washes?
Love your youtube videos.
Thanks for you time,
Swift

Hi Nick
Thank you for the lovely comments. To work light over dark I work opaquely - adding white (titanium white watercolour)to the mixes to gradually layer in the lighter hairs.
I'm pleased you enjoyed the videos and I hope that helps!
