Young Peacock © Tracy Hall 2011
4" x 1.75" watercolour on board
I managed to finish up this new miniature painting of a young peacock over the weekend - a beautiful bird that I photographed when visiting friends last year. I'm having fun playing with this long format for the miniatures at the moment.
On the big easel just now I am finishing up a new painting for a jigsaw company...which I am trying to get done by the end of the week so I had better get back to it!

Lovely soft colours Tracy and love the hint of rainbow colours in the background. Wonderful detail as well!!! :)
This peacock is lovely. The muted turquoises in the neck feathers are beautiful.
I love the colours on the neck Tracy
Thank you, I'm pleased you all liked it (and thank you also for the mention on your blog Giancarlo). I did enjoy trying to nail the colours in the neck :)
Handsome young fella Tracy! Love the tall format. Colette
Lovely work Tracy. I like the way the water behind has similar colors. Nice format, too.
I love the way your design follows the format shape, Tracy!
Just beautiful Tracy...
Beautiful Tracy, lovely colours and a great crop.
Thanks so much guys, very pleased you like it and I am enjoying the format too!
Your work is lovely. You must use about a two hair brush for that tiny detail!
This is a fun format, and your colors are so intriguing...the rainbow background you see in tail feathers.
