sanderling miniature painting

sanderling - miniature bird painting by Tracy Hall

Sanderling © Tracy Hall 2011
4" x 1.75" Watercolour on rag board

My latest miniature is of a sanderling feeding at the water's edge (these birds are aptly named since they invariably appear on sand, scurrying up and down the beach as the waves roll in).

If you are in Edinburgh over the next couple of weeks I hope you'll be able to pop along to the Open Eye Gallery to see my father's new exhibition opening on Monday February 21st until March 8th.

Finally, some more new puzzles are now out, artwork commissioned by companies in the UK and USA, and hopefully available at a shop near you!

The Sanderling is beautiful, Tracy. So your Father is an artist, too. How wonderful to have something like that to share with a parent. And, congratulations on the release of your puzzles. I will have to look for them and tell everyone I know about them. Wishing you a beautiful day.

Tracy, looking at your rocks and waves I always realize how much more observation I need to do before painting!

Thank you Carol and Sadami - he's down in Edinburgh for the private view tomorrow...wish I could be there too!

Hi Jenean - I think its fair to say I would rather be on a beach in California than in Orkney right now :)

Hi Marie - Love painting rocks!!!!
