Rolo & Bella © Tracy Hall 2010
11" x 15" watercolour on arches
These two labradors belong to a wonderful couple who have asked me to paint all of their dogs over the years, so it was a pleasure to be asked again. They have been patiently waiting since 2009, but since Rolo is a new addition to their family hopefully that worked out well in the end.
We still have lots of snow. The birds are enjoying the food we're putting out and amongst the others it was nice to find a chaffinch this morning as we don't often see them - closely followed by a sparrowhawk, who cleared the garden of birdlife in a flash.

Hi Tracy!... A beautifully composed "double portrait" that reveals very naturally... the texture, nature and the warm personality of the breed!
You have a very obvious strong connection to your subjects... and your chosen media!
My first visit... but I certainly will be back!

You do beauiful work. How I wish I could paint like that!!!
Merry Christmas,Tracy, and keep on painting beauty.
Wonderful pictures.
I really enjoy your subject matter, who wouldn't love this beautiful pair? The texture of the fur that you have achieved here is stunning. Though this piece has a picturesque quality, you have successfully captured the natural sense of movement that is associated with animals. I enjoyed looking at your pieces. fine art
Wow Tracy I am in awe. I have been thinking about getting back to painting for the last couple of years, but always seem to come up with an excuse why I haven't the time. Having seen your work its truly inspiring and I have decided to give it a go.
I used to paint on silk and have had commissions and exhibits but watercolour will be a new challenge. I can only dream that I produce a piece that will not stay hidden in the back of the cupboard.
Thank you for finally getting me motivation and letting us enjoy your talent.
