Kittens in the garden

'Stepping Out' © Tracy Hall 2010
20" x 28" watercolour on board

Finished up the painting of the cat family in the garden this morning and scanned it to send off. Haven't had a chance to colour proof it yet though, but it looks pretty close on my monitor. This one is a combination of lots of references and some made up bits - the steps have appeared in at least three of my paintings in various guises and gate colours, the flowers are all from the garden and the cottage in the background is about five miles away and very pretty in the summer. But in reply to an email no, this place doesn't exist in real life :) Now back to the Dolls House.

Tracy - this looks great. So many interesting things to look at and everything is so well done. Too bad it doesn't exist in real life; it would be a lovely place to spend time.

The amount of detail is amazing! I did a picture once with a couple, their 5 cats, a dragon, castle and clasical ruins...this reminds me of it because their is SO much going on but it works as a coherent picture!

Thanks Giada, I'm pleased you like it!
Barbara - you and me both :)

Hi Michelle, thank you and I agree. My husband is working on it in the garden here!

Thanks Tristan - this is for a jigsaw puzzle so has to be busy, but I think you may take the prize for that particular commission!!

Adorable, Tracy! The calico reminded me of one of my kitties in the past. :)

Tracy, this is fun, light and full of spring. I love how the arch and the blue door in the background draw your eye into the composition.

Great picture, I loved the way you worked so much detail into the picture and yet it has a peaceful look to it. Pansies are out here as well and I am busy planning pictures for them.
