Miniature garden painting

garden miniature painting by tracy hall'The Red Door' © Tracy Hall 2010
2.25" x 1.75" Watercolour on board
(enlarged)

This is a painting of the entrance to the walled garden at Kirbister Farm Museum in Orkney. Its a beautiful, peaceful spot, tended but also a little bit overgrown and one of my favourite places in the islands - it reminds me of long summer days :) I think I may tweak it a little more but its basically done.

P.s. I'm not entirely sure I scanned this straight.

Absolutely beautiful. I am a sucker for little entrance ways like this..wishing I had one at my home and envious of my sister who has just found out she is moving into a quaint cottage in Cornwall.

Oh Tracy! I want to go there too! Do I have to shrink down to a quarter inch to visit this magical place? It's so lovely!

Thanks so much everyone, I'm really pleased you like it. And I even managed to resist the urge to put a little creature in it somewhere (so far!)

This is such a magical place, Tracy. I want to be there and breathe the same air! How did you manage to NOT add a critter????

Shucks Janie :) Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks Barbara - its a lovely spot, glad you get that too. If it was still here I think I would have added a furry or feathered something in the end!

Thank you Fruiysquerrle, and for stopping by. I especially liked your ink sketches!
