This weekend sees the opening of the Miniature Art Society of Florida (MASF) 35th Annual Exhibition at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art in Tarpon Springs, Florida. This is one of the largest international shows of miniature art with around 850 works selected from artists all over the world. The show is a major highlight of the year and I would love the chance to see it in person some day! Above are the entries I sent and I was delighted to receive an award for The Lambing Shed (third place in opaque watercolour). I'll hopefully be able to post some links to pictures and videos of the event soon but first reports are that sales are very brisk and the atmosphere wonderful. If you have the opportunity to visit the show you will be in for a treat and it runs through until February 7th with most work on display for sale, regular demonstrations from artists and also the chance to see the Society's Permanent Collection of over 100 works.
Update: Below is a video of the show taken by Wes and Rachelle Siegrist (if you have any problems viewing it click here to go to Youtube to watch):

Congratulations on your award, Tracy. It sounds as though the show is going really well so far! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for sales. Good luck to you, I'm sure you will do well with your beautiful work! All of it outstanding!
I'm so proud of you Tracy, hope they all sell for you. Congratulations!!!
Bardzo piekne są te Twoje prace! Gratuluję nagrody! Nie dziwię się, bo warte są najwyższych nagród! Zyczę powodzenia w twórczości!:)))
Hope that you sell lots Tracy, you certainly deserve to. They're all beautiful and I would love any of them on my wall! Lesley
I wish I could go too Tracy...The thing is, all your pieces are amazing, and I've seen some of the other entries in this show - They are great too. I would almost hate to ever be a judge at MASF, because I think the quality of work is probably the best you'll see anywhere in miniature art. I don't think I could choose favorites. I really don't think I could.
Thanks Vicki and lovely to hear from you again Michelle!
My fingers are crossed too Barbara! Thanks Judy, Lesley and Slavkosnip for your nice comments.
I don't envy the judges at MASF either Deb, but would so like to get a chance to see the show one day. As you say, all the entries Ive seen so far have been fantatsic. I'd have to say The Royal Miniature Society show is also stunning if you ever find yourself in London in October :)
