'Chillin' (Sumatran Tiger)' © Tracy Hall 20092" x 2" watercolour on rag board
A really laid back tiger :) He looked so comfortable with not a care in the world. I don't think I've drawn an upside down animal before - not entirely sure I want to try it again either, but it was a fun exercise and makes me smile anyway. It also sees me back painting miniatures after a few weeks of not being able to see well enough (or stay awake long enough actually!). Hope you like him too.

He is beautiful! Looks like he would enjoy having his belly scratched.
Glad that you are able to paint again Tracy! You have not lost your touch at all.... the tiger is absolutely beautiful. I bet he does not stay on your wall long :)
Comments from both my kids:
AAAAAHHHHH. Wow...she's really good!!!
Very cuddly!! Glad you're feeling well and back to painting!
I love him and I'm glad you're feeling better.
Great perspective, this has come out tremendously well. Good to hear your feeling well again :)
Hi Vicki - it was tempting :) Thanks Lesley and your kids are very sweet April!
I[m really pleased you like him Gayle, Chris and Sheona. Its good to be feeling ok again thats for sure.
Tracy,
You captured the tiger great and I must say it was an ambitious composition after feeling so poorly for so long. Glad you are feeling better.
Cute title too!
Tracy, I missed this when first up, saw it today. I love it. Glad you are seeing and feeling well enough to do your minis again.
Geesh, Tracy, this is what you do when you DON'T feel well???? Glad you are feeling better! It's a lovely piece and I can imagine the challenge it would be upside down. I would say you were very successful!
Hi Wes, Judy and Barbara, thanks for stopping by, it certaily felt good to be back at the minis! I had fun with it though - and the title :)
Great piece Tracy! He (because it cannot possibly be a girl in this position)looks totally relaxed and content.
So my artsy question is; did you paint this right reading (with the cat upside down) or did you turn the painting upside down and paint the cat right way up? :-)
I DO like your upside down tiger Tracy, and I'm so glad you are feeling better!
I once did an upside down self portrait, but when it was accepted into a show, the judge insisted on hanging it upside down, so I looked like I'd been electrified!
Hi Kim - actually his mate was doing the exact same thing a few feet away! I think I maybe turned it once, but it didn't help much as he looked even weirder. But I did hold it up to the mirror alot!
Thanks Deb, I hope you didnt hang upside down to paint it!
This is wonderful, Tracy. Glad you're about over the flu.
