Miniature paintings

miniature watercolour kitten painting 'Fascination' © Tracy Hall 2009
1.75" x 2.25" watercolour on board (with ghost penny for scale)

Two new miniatures finished. The larger paintings are still not done and I am blaming a persistent cold which had me working in slow motion for the best part of a week. 'Fascination' features one of a litter of kittens we had a few years back; they have cropped up in quite a lot of paintings, although they're not always tabby :) This one was inspired by their first outing into the big wide world (the garden) and watching their tentative encounters with everything from beetles to dogs.

I think I will need to rescan the garden scene below as the colours are doing funny things, but here is it for now as I don't have time today:

Breathless, and with tears of joy from the combined beauty of the music, and your masterful work, I thank you for sharing.

Both paintings are amazing in their depth and detail. I especially like the way you paint foliage. You must spend 15 min. on each individual leaf!

Oh Tracy, WOW, you are getting better and better and I already thought you were on the TOP. But you have put yourself out of the TOP - if this is possible.
WOW these paintings are so amazing and I too like all the tiny foliage - those details are stunning.
Both paintings are so wonderful, my favorite is "A quiet spot", there is so much to see - I am such a big fan of your art. I wish I could afford this tiny painting - I would buy it immediately.

Wow, I can't believe they are so small, the detail is just amazing. I particulary like Fascination, a lovely pose.

Tracy, I love your compositions, the way you lead the viewer around in the work with line and color. "Fascination" is adorable and I love the red gate and spots of red throughout in "A Quiet Spot". And wow, like everyone says, the attention to detail in the foliage is incredible!

Thanks so much everyone for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it and am so pleased you like these two. I must redo the garden one so you can all see how bad it really is.

:)

Deb, I don't time it but you're probably not far off. Isn't that sad?! Doris - thats so sweet thank you. I can't afford them either.

Two more masterpieces. Boy, Tracy- I sure wish I could see these in RL. If they're this gorgeous on the computer... You just keep getting better and better. I don't know which one I like better. Love them both.

Just beautiful again Tracy! Love the kitten - that one is so typical of their curiosity. I have been playing with a pencil mini today so can appreciate how difficult these teeny works can be.

Brillant as usual!

The kitten is wonderful; and those stripes just lead my eye right to that lovely butterfly!

And A Quiet Spot is perfect! So very inviting-- I want to live there!

...my husband wants to set up his hammock there :-)

So what's next??
