Chimfunchi Chimpazee © Tracy Hall 2009
Watercolour miniature 1.75" x 2.25"
This is my latest miniature and has been so much fun to work on! My brother lived for many years in Zambia and spent time at the Chimfunchi Orphanage, where young chimpanzees are cared for and rehabilitated. This painting is an amalgam of several of them, and since I needed to record the progress of this piece I've included a few stages below as I went along:

Fabulous work Tracy. I love apes and this one has great appeal.
Bellissimo!!! In this small work you have made a great work! Ciao! Paola
Ahh!! Tracy, you said you were going to do a chimp and you did a beautiful job of it. You are a natural at these minis. Great work.
Thanks Jeanette, aren't they wonderful creatures? Just off to watch Orangutang Diary :)
Thank you Paola - Ciao from Orkney!
Thanks for the kind words Judy, much appreciated and glad you like how he turned out:)
Great work, as usual!
Not only is the chimp done well,(how on earth did you do those eyes?) but I love how he is holding the twig, as chimps are animals that naturally use "tools"
Tiddly little brush and a magnifying glass, Kim :) And I held my breath while I did it. I think that may be the secret actually.
As long as you don't take too long over it.
Your work is breathtaking! It's hard to believe this is watercolor. Amazing.
Hi Tracy, was just checking my "links" and found yours on one of them too so decided to visit. Just love all your work. And your u-tube stuff. Wish they were longer! As to holding your breath, if you run out of air, stop, take another, and KEEP ON!!! VBG as Rich says.
Carol
Maria, thank you so much. All watercolour :)
Hey Carol - great to see you here!I didn't know you had a blog I shall go investigate. Doesn;t it sound silly when you tell people you have to hold your breath?! But so true. I have to remember to breathe (VBG!).
