Sweet Pea flowers - watercolour painting

sweet peas - watercolour painting © Tracy Hall Sweet Pea Study © Tracy Hall
6.5" x 4.5" watercolour on Arches HP

Sweet peas (Lathyrus odoratus) keep me company in the studio all through the summer. As their latin name suggests their scent is simply wonderful. The stems are often straight, but the bunch I picked this morning to paint were growing any which way!

This painting will be for sale in aid of Art Helping Animals just as soon as I get organised :) If you are interested in purchasing it meantime just get in touch.

There is a National Sweet Pea Society and they will be holding their National Show at Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire on July 12th.

Hello Tracy, what a beautiful composition. I love the curves of the stems and the variety of the colours.
Really beautiful.
